6 branches of economy to undergo demonopolization. The insurance on the list.

The issue of possible demonopolization of six branches of the economy will be considered during the year. It was stated by the Minister of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade Vladimir Koltovich during the international conference “Antimonopoly regulation in the EAEU countries: main trends and practices of law enforcement”.
Currently, the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and the Ministry of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade (MART) jointly endorse a program for the development of competition in Belarus. In its framework, analysis of competition law, authority of the MART, anti-monopoly bans, situation on the markets is performed. Six pilot sectors of the economy have been specified for priority and detailed analysis in order to identify restrictions of competition. This group of industries includes telecommunications, electric power, gas supply, passenger air transportation, freight rail transportation, insurance (reinsurance).
